Thanks, everyone. No, it is not "museum quality", not compared to the work I have seen that I thought was, but it is a pretty good picture stooge. There are some things I will do differently next time, and there will be a next time because I have an F-101A/C conversion in the stash, and an RF-101B kit also. But first there is the F-100, F-102A, F-105, and F-106 to do. I better speed up some, huh?
I will say again, the ground equipment and the base were built by James Steel, who was a museum quality builder. Some of my ideas went into it, but the skills were all his. I study it to see what I can do better.
Yes, the Monogram 1/48 Century series fighters are great models with lots of detail. They don't snap together like a Tamiya kit, but when you have done all the work and it is done and looking nice in your pictures and on your shelf, they can be very satisfying. This one is to me.
