1/48 Monogram B-17G Flying Fortress

Truly a masterpiece, Outstanding work! I can only dream of building something with that amount of detail and the patience it takes

Fantastic build!  This was really eye-opening to me as to the possibilities and some of the methods.  I'm just about to get going with my re-engagement with the hobby, and this really fired me up.

Congratulations on the showing, and I look forward to seeing more of your handiwork.

I'm about two years into mine.  I hope it comes out as fine as yours did.  Great minds think alike I guess.

I entered her in her first show today.  SEMMEX 2012 in Eastpoint, Mi.  I was very surprised with Best in Show - Modelers Choice.  The biggest comment I heard was about the lack of smoke on engine start-up.  I need to work on that..........  Time for a beer.  FERMIS didn't show.  That's why I won Best of Show.....

Thanks for all the compliments.  3 years ago today, I started this project.  Today, she's complete.....  All I have to do is find a place to display her.  Maybe I'll hang the B-1B from the ceiling.

This is the restoration of a 17 in England.  There is some really interesting details that I had never seen before.

Getting closer every day.

The concrete hardstand ready for paint....

I installed all the electronics after the concrete was painted.  I have to relocate the remote sensor.  It's not working.

One of the fuel drums contains the magnet to activate the switch.

Tomorrow, the grass and earth will be added and more weathering.

Believe me.  I tried.  I looked a battery powered cigarettes, model train smoke generators, but there's nothing out there that I could fit into the wings and worry about heat or size of the unit.  Maybe I should take up smoking again and blow smoke every time an engine starts?  NOT!!!!!
