What Vance posted look like big ole FAB 250s to me..  the two units at upper right in this photo are supposed to be cluster munition canisters (according to Trumpeter)...  at any rate, it seems that my MiG will be carrying some rocket pods like those posted by Manny and some FABs.   The weapons shown below will hang on a Frogfoot.

If you look closely there is even a pair of red scissors tucked down into the front pocket of the seat...

They're not left-handed scissors are they? P38jl was looking for those...

I think the pilots used those to cut out coupons while waiting for take-off clearance...

For the instrument needles, I used deer hair, set in clear glue. In 1/72, you have to use the fine hairs off of the "danglies" though. In 1/48, you can get away with the slightly thicker hair from what would be their arm pit.

Freehand, with clear glue for the "glass"

The hard part is sneaking up on the deer & yanking the hairs before they realize you're there and kick you in the face...

I got the MiG's fuselage closed up last night and am waiting for the seam putty to cure before I tackle the cleanup, painted two FAB-250 dumb bombs and a pair of small rocket pods to hang underneath it, painted the landing gear and wheels, added a styrene shim to the mating surface of each main wing to hopefully close a nasty gap on the underside wing root...

Mostly it's petty stuff before I can get the wings and tail section added on and the paint thrown at it.

So here's the wheels and landing gear with the ordnance I plan to hang on my MiG...

and the thin shims I added to the wing roots to help close the gap on the underside.  I'm still going to need to add some filler once  these are glued to the fuselage.  Bummer...

the fuselage as it stands now..  a few spots of sanding left

and the tail section with some painting done now when the masking is easiest.  MM enamel gloss black followed by MM enamel steel.   This needs to dry for a while before I glue the tail onto the rest of the fuselage and then add all the rest of the parts.

and that's that until this paint cures enough to safely handle.  Time to finish painting a 1/48 Spitfire...

Thanks Vance!

Just because I know that Manny likes updates without pics...Stick out tongue

I've gotten the nose ring (?) and front access panels in place and puttied and also glued the tail section onto the fuselage.   A little cleanup on those seams and then I can start putting the wings on it...
