I think Dre called it.  I believe that's the chute housing.

Thought so...didn't know the clam-shell covering also served as airbrakes...

We had to change the name of the group build. After talking with Manny, he suggested we change it to BIG Russian Jet Groupie GB. So that's what it is now. I apologize to Ninetalis that he'll have to redesign the badges. If you have any questions about the name change, you can message me personally. I don't want to derail this interesting thread anymore than I already have.

Still waiting on my Ejection seat, but the IP is done....

That is a very small IP....!?!

The decal only covered the central part...maybe I'll add some to it...

Ejector seat arrived and should fit w/ mods. I'm debating what color to paint the cushion/para pack.

I'm mad. I have searched for the better part of this week, and cant find my scriber. Ordering another one....

Ok, looks like I'm back in the game. At least for now! Been out of it for 6 months. Since Manny runs a tight (and demanding) ship, I'll have to pick up my game.

What I've started is the Revell 1/48 MiG-21 PF. Seems like a nice kit, same one Winetanker is building I believe. Not a lot of detail but I added some decals to the IP to fill in some of the dead space. All I've completed so far is the tub and I scrounged a pilot from my spares box who may or may not pass for a Soviet era pilot, but thats alright.

I'm not going nuts on this build as I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands. As per my usual MO, most of my WIP pics will be with the cell phone. A bit blurry but my WIPs generally aren't that impressive any way.

I went with that snazzy turquoise color because it was different.

Well, your pics suk but at least you're building---keep up the pace...

I'm concentrating on another model right now, but I've made a little progress on my Mig-21along the way..      it's pretty much all the major sub-assemblies waiting to be assembled.   I need to finish painting the cockpit and the rest should fall together pretty quickly afterwards.

Yep, that looks like the same kit. Now I'm feeling the pressure

Have you assembled the ext fuel tank yet??? The tailcone fit in my kit is HORRIBLE. But everything else doesn't seem too bad.

No pressure, Winetanker! I haven't ventured much further than my pictures show so I haven't experienced much poor fit yet.  I'm surprised you're having problems with the ejection seat, mine fit quite nicely. However, I'm sure I'll encounter a problem or two down the road, otherwise it wouldnt be a true Revell kit.

Welcome aboard MiG19fan-----haven't seen that kit so it'll be cool to see what it looks like...

Got the seat painted...and added some to the IP...it's gonna be a tight fit...

Interested in seeing that one as well. I have Italeri's re-boxing of the Bilek Su-22 lined up for this GB and it looks good on the sprues.

Wow...ya'll guys are lazy...no progress alll weekend.  Also, where's Fermis??? Thought he was gonna join this MOJ0 ???
