Someone may have to correct me 'cause I'm sure no expert, but isn't it true that this Monogram kit, old as it is, is still the most accurate, shape-wise, P-40B in 1/48?  Nice progress too.Yes

Gary

Yes.....by far.  Looking sweet Miss....

Looking pretty sweet Glenn!  I meant to ask if you've found any trouble with the wing root at all yet?

Small update; it's beginning to take too long. I decided to cut corners and glue the flaps up instead of detailing and dropping them. I'm starting to box in the wheel wells, they may end up too shallow; I'm crossing my fingers on that one. The scribing isn't what I had hoped, I'll run some rivet lines around the cowling area.

Thanks for the heads up on the windscreen, BV. I am sanding off all the panel lines and rescribing, which is going to need some more work. I passed on the rivets for now, and I've gone undecided on whether to keep the flaps up or down. That would save some work and get the build finished. I have that 1/32 Tamiya Corsair waitin' on me!!

Don't forget to place the small part of the windscreen back on.  =]  It'll be just a sliver and it'll butt up against the canopy when it closes.

Are you sanding all of your panel lines as well.  I'm thinking about leaving mine.  I'm a bit undecided.  I may pass a razor just behind/on top of all these raised lines...something to hold a pigment.  We'll see.  I think I want to keep the rivets.

Nice kitbashing to make a more detailed cockpit. Pretty good work on the panel as well, even if the dials aren't perfect. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for the comments. I hope you'll take some time and look at Theuns' P-40 group build page. There's some really good builds happening there.

Tex, that's a beautiful bird!

I'm looking forward to this!  It'll be a lot of fun seeing what you do with that one.  Here's mine:

Nice pit Glenn.  Its amazing that in 1964 that cockpit was state of the art.......lol.  Can't wait to see more of the only accurate P-40 B in any scale....
