Alclad clear coats?

Alclad makes all the clear coats you need from flat to gloss....its all great stuff.

That looks fairly shiny.  I'd go with a few light coats of the gloss.  It's designed to be used right out of the bottle.  I usually go with 15-20 psi.  Thats a beauty by the way.  Liking the different hues, very realistic

Thanx. I rarely use different shades of alclad. I just have airframe and pollished allu here (the dark allu I have does not work well for me)

I do 3 light coats of airframe allu and then mask off some pannels, do 3 more light coats and this is the result.

I do however think this might be to shiny for a HUN, maybe a very slight toning down just to get the "chrome" look away, but still keep the semi gloss.

Do you guys do 1 good coat of clear after decals, or a few light coats with the alclad clear?

Whatever clear coat you use,make sure you do not apply each coat too heavy.  I clear coated my latest project with Tamiya clear gloss.  i sprayed it on too heavy and it leached the black undercoat right through the alum Alclad, and it totaly ruined the finish.

I have a question ,guys on the same thread.

When you dust clear coat,  ( in my case Tamiya clear )  how long are you supposed to wait between coats ?
