Eduard Fw 190A Nachtjager Limited Edition 1/48
Posted by Aviator93 on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 9:02 AM

Hi all
A few days ago I saw this kit in a hobby store and I immediately loved it.
This kit is very rich: it contains two aircraft to be built into the version you prefer (A-5, A-6, A-6/R11, A-7/R11, A-8/R11). All these versions were for night fighting, and therefore much used between 1942 and 1945, especially to defend the skies of Germany by Allied bombers.
I still have not decided which version I will, but right now I'm looking for as much material as possible. I'd like to do both aircraft parked and the engine is in sight (the kit has a very high level of detail).

I show you some pictures:

These are the parts of the aircraft (about 400)

The decals

And a nice "Wilde Sau" Emblem pin

The kit cost me 55€ (about 75$) and I really like it.

I hope to do a good job and not to disappoint you. If you have material that will be useful, share it as well. Thank you!

p.s.
Sorry for my bad english.

Hey Alessio,

I haven't built an Eduard 190 yet (have a few in the stash) but I've read that you need to be very careful with the fit   The 190 Group Build page has some good tips on building the Eduard 190.  Looking forward to seeing your build!

I can't freaking believe this!!  This is the exact kit I'll be building for the Night Fighter GB that'll start soon.  What are the odds?!? ;) Thanks a whole bunch =D

You should really check out the JG300 books by Lorant and Goyat. 2 very superb volumes with lots of rare pics of single engine night fighters.

Oh yeah man. I have vol 1. It's more of a bible in regards to JG300 and there birth and day to day ops. As well as rare photos of 109s and 190s, most which had no radar of any kind.

Hi Alessio, I strongly suggest you check out the Butcher Bird Group Build that is still in progress. A number of folks built the Eduard 190 and you will find some very very helpful hints on building one. There are some great tutorials there on how to address the very tight fit tolerances with the engine, gun bay and cockpit. Feel free to ask any questions there concerning building the Eduard kit as the guys over there will be more than happy to help. I guarantee that it will be well worth your time.

Oh, I see Nathan and Joe both got posts in before I finished my last one.  Joe there is a renowned expert on the process of building the Eduard 190. And Nathan has more working knowledge on 190's than Kurt Tank himself. I would tap both of those guys for their immense brain trust.

@sanderson_91

Found it. I think I will give a long peek before starting work :P

@bvallot

What a coincidence! Maybe some information might be useful.

@Nathan T

Thanks for the information. Maybe I have to ask for a loan to buy this "bible"? ;)

@JOE RIX

As I said, I'll try to get as much information as possible in the group....and maybe from the bible!

Question: There isn't a multiquote function?
