So looking thru my stash I noticed I had a few 1/48 F-16C's from revell and Fujimi. I took the worst of the bunch to try my hand at the Have Glass paint used on some F-16's, all F-22's and F-35's. I tried everything from mixing tamiya silver with Future and airbrushing and painting by brush. The results were less than spectacular. I tried mixing metallics into the gray and applied with an airbrush. This gave me a metallic gunmetal color. I resorted to dry brushing silver onto the kit. Dry brushing gave me the best results.
So posted below is my first attempt on an old 1986 dated revel kit in 1/48 scale. this was one of those Chuck Yeager series kits. The fit on the kit was terrible. Since this was purely for practicing the Have Glass look, I did not bother to seal up any seams. I will save that work for the fujimi kit.
Overall I don't think it came out too bad. In certain spots I went too heavy with the silver, but hey thats why this is a practice kit. If anybody has any pointers on achieving a good have glass look your feedback is appreciated. Thanks all.
