I've got the IDF 2 seat F-16l and the UAE version 2 seat F-16 c/d .  I plan to do the UAE one first as it uses the I believe tri gray color scheme to get me ready for the Israeli F-16.  Can't wait to hang lots of munitions under the wings.   they both are the 2 seaters with the conformal tanks on the top of the wings.

Man, she's a real stunner man!  I can't keep from looking her over, over and over. Big Smile That's a beautiful warbird!

Gary

Thanks, Gary!  I appreciate the kind words!

Not too much into jets...but that is one of the nicest I've ever seen.  Thank you for sharing.

Joe

Thanks, Joe!

Although I should say thanks to you for sharing.  I've got a couple of your threads saved in my browser...like the weathering streaks on a P-47 build you did a while back and a thread on how to wire radial engines.  I think I saved a cockpit tutorial you did, as well.  I haven't built any WWII subjects in several years but I've got a few in the stash and when I start to build them I'll be refering to your work.

falconmod

absolutely beautiful,  I now have something to aspire to when I start my two seater F-16l.   WowToast

John

Thank you, John!  Looking forward to seeing your build!  Are you gonna do a WIP thread?  I wouldn't mind doing an IAF F-16D or F-16I myself.

Tojo72

Great job,Iove the scheme  and markings.I did a Hasegawa Barak a few years ago, nowhere near as nice as yours though

Thanks, Tojo!  I got a bit lucky with this one.  I felt like Rocky...this thing kicked my but for for the first 11 rounds then I somehow came back.  If you check out the WIP thread you'll see what I mean...it was no Tamiya kit!

Dre

Fly- this is just fantastic!   Although the kit was a lemon, I think you have brewed up something quite a bit more tasty and far stronger than mere lemonade.

Truly another masterwork.

Thanks, Dre!  Your comments are always appreciated!

Simply stunning really. Great job and excellent recovery on the hiccups you had too.

Your photography is miles ahead of most people too, so no worries there either. :D

Thank you very much, dflu!

This ended up being a good build because it really forced me to be patient and use some more advanced type modeling skills.  I got alot out of this one.  Don't get me wrong, though, I still think this kit was a lemon.  But part of the challenge of modeling is turning the lemons into lemonade, right?

Buckeye

That's a beauty!!

Thanks, Buckeye!  I appreciate that!

On a seperate note...

I just realized that I forgot to add the pitot tube on the side of the nose just behind the radome and the TAT probe.  You can see the attachment point on the side  in the first pic.  I still have the parts on the sprues so I'll paint them up and attach them.  Oops!

Fly-in-hi, this is damn impressive.  You've definitely got this down to a science.  I had a question about the decals too... Are the rescue arrow decals in English for Israeli jets as well?  It only just occurred to me.  Wouldn't they be in Israeli? lol  Any background on this anybody?  =]

Thank you, bvallot!  I also noticed the English stencils.

I looked at a bunch of pics on the internet as I was building this and it seems like there were a mix of English and Hebrew stencils.  I'm not sure why they don't just use one language.

MAgather

That is a gorgeous Barak. Absolutely fantastic.  Weathering is perfect.

Thanks, Magarther!  Weathering is one area that I've really been trying to improve on.  I have an MPC X-Wing that I'm working on for the Sci-Fi GB and I'm gonna try a few new techniques on it.

That's a real beauty you have there.  Wish I had your skill.  Perhaps one day.

Thank you very much, pilot47!  It didn't happen overnight. though.  I gained a vast amount of knowledge from lurking the forums regularly for the past few years.

Dude, you do great work! Almost hate to point out that your Stars of David are on backwards...

Thanks, MS!  For about 2 seconds I was like "Oh ****!"  Then I got it.

ygmodeler4

I love the look of Israeli aircraft and you have definitely done it justice.

Thanks, YG!  Yeah, I like the look of the IAF birds.  Painting the US stuff the same 3 shades of grey over and over gets a little old after a while.

Posted by Fly-n-hi on Monday, June 9, 2014 6:08 PM

Hello everyone!  I just finished my WIP of the 1/48 Italeri Israeli Air Force F-16C Barak.

I won't get into the details of the kit here but I do have plenty to say about it in my WIP thread so if you're interested check it out.

Anyway, here she is.  Hope you like it! (I'm not a great photographer so keep you pic expectations low, pleaseCool).
