Posted by AdeB on Monday, June 30, 2014 5:07 PM

Just back from 4 month's deployment. Straight into a big build.

Pics of the early stages of Tamiya ME262 tomorrow.

Big catch up with all the threads too!

Glad to hear about one of these on the forum again!  I've been just thinking about perhaps doing one a few months from now for the NMF GB going on.  I hope to show it in its bare metal state. =]  What paint scheme are you planning on doing?

OK, as this is my first build for a few months and is going to consume my 4 weeks off, I invested in a few extras. First out of the box of goodies were the Eduard resin wheels and I couldn't resist diving straight into them before even starting the main kit!

Paired with Scale Aircraft Conversion legs, I think they look rather splendid. Also along side are a few "prepped" bulheads and panels.

Very nice work in the cockpit, and good call on those wheels.

All done, next step some gloss coat prior to decals.

Very nice, I am just about done with the decals on mine and I have to say the Tamiya decals , especially the stenciling was just about close to being useless! They took allot of micro sol to settle down. I just hope they will not silver when I put the satin coat over them.

That's strange, I am having to resort to using the supplied decals as my investment in some after market ones ended in disaster. The one's I ordered all broke apart ..every one. Just awful.

Not having any issues with the Tamiya one's. Unfortunately it's resulted in a slightly "wrong" colour scheme for the decals chosen but I am not that fussy.

Still glossy from decal application and without last few bits. Weathering to begin tomorrow. And those Tamiya decals looking pretty damn good.

Very nice... And impressive build speed. Nothing like an all day build marathon. I look forward to the finished product. Joe

Almost done. It will be posed on a rugged, grass diorama, hence the heavy weathering. Also just need to fit the HF antenna lines.
