This is Hasegawa's A-4E/F kit converted to a C using the Steel Beach set. The markings are for VA-93.

Thanks for the kind words. The decals are, I believe, from Eagle Strike. This was my test bed to see how my A-4C conversion fit the E/F kits. With the B/C kits getting hard to find, I thought this would be a nice conversion to have around.

That does look nice!  I love the weathering.

Can anyone think of a reason why the conversion set wouldn't work on the Revell kit?

That's an interesting question. I designed it based off of the Hasegawa kit, so the trick is the fit of the intakes. I'll see if I can pull out my Monogram kit and do a test fit to see if there are any sizable gaps. The other issue would be how different the shape of the nose area is. Of course, with enough putty, anything can be made to fit! :-)

Geez, Darren,,,,I had to do a double take when I saw your model.

I thought you beat me to one that I wanted to do. It is a VA-93 in those markings, but, mine will be an A-4E with CVW-5,,,,,,,still with the Insignia on the front fuselage. It will be one of the ten squadrons that followed that front fuselage directive on A-4Es before the directive was reversed, sending the insignia back to the rear on A-4E and later.

Nice build,,,,,,,that has the look of a well fitting conversion set.

(pssst, include directions for an A-4L in your set, letting 1/48 modelers use the F hump if their kit comes with it)

That's really cool. I've been wanting to do an "L" for one of the squadrons that was in Memphis, TN back in the 70's. So I'd need that set and the hump from the "F" or "M" models to make it work? Also, do you make a TA-4J conversion for the Monogram OA-4M?

Everything to make an L comes in the E/F kit. Those parts coupled with the SB conversion will get you an L. I do indeed have an OA-4M conversion for the TA-4J kit. You can get them at Sprue Bros.

That would be awesome Darren!

I have a few of the Monogram kits in my stash, plus it's quite a bit cheaper.
