Beautiful work.  Thank you for posting.  Interestingly, the Monogram A-10 was my first build when I came back to the hobby a shade over a decade ago.  Thats wonderful your son has an interest on the hobby.  We're becoming a rare breed.  I'm hoping to do the same with my 7 year old daughter, but right now she only wants airbrush (more like hose everything down) with pink.

13 and building models and building them very well. Great choice over digital "hobbies." Hope it lasts once he discovers girls.

Thank you all, you're too kind. He was very proud of his accomplishment. Believe me there was plenty of complaining (basically wanting me to do something for him) but I would tell him how and say "you have to do it yourself, otherwise you don't learn". Needless to say, it took him a long time to complete, but as he approached the end and started seeing something close to what he liked he kicked into overdrive. I am very proud of the work he did. Now if he'll quit steeling my glue!

Man, That is really well done. Your son certainly has a knack for the art. I'm certain that an excellent mentor and father had much to do with it. So encouraging to see some young ones taking up the hobby and, such as your son, excelling. Tell you what, at 13 the quality of my models was such that they were merely BB gun candidates. Thank You so much for sharing your son's excellent A-10. And be sure to tell him from all of us, Job Well Done!

He started on it about 5 minutes after taking pics of this one. It's good to see him excited with modeling.

That is AWESOME!  Not only is his first build simply amazing, but so is his excitement for his new-found hobby.

I'm 43 and have been building models for the past 36 years.  Do you want to know where my latest A-10 is?  It's partially finished and sitting in its box because I buggered up the wing-to-fuselage join pretty badly with an overabundance of superglue.  LOL!

Please congratulate your son and tell him we ALL are proud of his accomplishment!  Bow Down

NICE, I think dad has some competition.

Thanks guys.  Greg, he's 13 and the kit is the 1/48 Tamiya. He used a rattle can to paint and is looking forward to using his airbrush on the next kit, which is the Academy 1/48 F15C. He started on it about 5 minutes after taking pics of this one. It's good to see him excited with modeling.

Whoa, I'd say we have a seasoned pro in the making here!

Curious which kit this is and how old is your son?

Such a treat to see a youngster taking an interest in this hobby. Well done dad and son.

Hello all, this is my sons first "real" model. He loves the A10 and I had an extra in my stash soooooooo, couldn't think of a better way to share an experience together. I told him I would post the pics here. So without further ado,
