Tamiya 1:48 Fairey Swordfish

Got started on this guy a week or so ago - things got a bit rough around the edges in some areas, but so far, so good! Going to try and make the exterior something a bit fun and untraditional like color mockups below.

I'll be following you.  I've got this kit waiting in my lineup, but I'm saving it for when my skills are up to snuff versus the quality of the model.  Good luck!

Excellent kit...and it looks like you're off to a great start! I built this kit a couple years ago and loved every minute of it. I'll be watching this build for sure...those are some very interesting color schemes!

Hey everybody -

Finally got a little time at the bench after the holidays quieted down. I got the fuselage interior painted up and am doing some work now to try and get a better match when I dry-fitting of the two fuselage halves. Hoping to get some time later this week to keep moving forward.

Hope everybody had a nice holiday season and thanks for reading!

I've always wanted to get that kit. Kind of out of my price range in my area. Seen Tamiya's 1/48 scale at LHS for $75.

Yikes – Finally sat down this month to finish this one off after 5(!) years. Will readily admit I don't think I will be doing anything with rigging again in the near future. That said, a fun build that was also pretty challenging for me. Here's my completed Fairey Swordfish Mk.1 Floatplane from Tamiya in 1/48 –

The model looks excellent. I like it.

I built the same model with wheels last year.
