Cheers, It is actually Soviet markings
That is a great job but I must say I have never seen the U.S. Insignia with a red star. What is the history on that?
Thank you guys
That's beautiful! Very well done indeed!
I don't know how I missed your post. I also completed one and had a blast working on it. It went together very well.
Your P-38 NMF looks fantastic, so a job well done Sir.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Beautiful work!

A fantastic job Grant. I love the P-38 and plan on building one soon. Nice work.

Thanks, good to know. I assume all tickle planes pro baby need that but haven't built one since I was a kid building the Monogram B-25J.

Thank you guys. Brandon, you definitely need weight in the nose mate. I put a heap in and it just sits on the wheels. But I could have fitted more weight in so it is not an issue.
Wow, stunning work! That NMF came out great, and I didn't know Academy made a P-38 in 1/48. I've been itching to get one for the stash, and after seeing your work, it makes me see how nicely they can build up.
Did you need much weight in the nose or does imbalance ok on its own?
Great job!
Well done Grant. Flawless NMF too. I've built a handful of the Hase version and this one seems to be just as nice. May have to give it a whirl.

Oops, I forgot to remove tape from over wing light for photos!
Here is my latest build, this is for a SIG. The information/history of the aircraft-
Lockheed P-38L-1-LO, 44-24384, black 80 – BLACKIE, Autumn 1944. Spring 1945. The aircraft was shortly used by IAD (173 and 45 APON) for training flights of the A-20G night fighter crew. After the war it was tested in NII VVS. The aircraft originally served in 94th FS, 1st FG wearing yellow marking with thin black trims. Due to use of yellow colour as quick indentification by the Luftwaffe, the yellow was painted over red.
This was OOB except for decals and some lead wire.Paints used- Alclad x 4 different "aluminium colours"Other paints used- Tamiya, Vallejo and Gunze Mr Metalizers-Model Master metalizer sealer-Klear-Black wash for panel lines
