First Airbrushed Model
Posted by principaldrew on Saturday, July 4, 2015 9:42 AM

After returning to the hobby recently after 30 years, I completed my first kit using an airbrush.  This is the first time I am posting a picture (using Carousel from Dropbox) so I am basically testing this to see if the picture shows up in the post.  I will post more if this works!  P.S. thanks to everyone who responded to my posts asking for advice about airbrushes, etc.!  Happy 4th!

The pic doesn't show up but a hyperlink does. The mustang looks great and the finish looks nice and clean.

That's pretty not bad for a first airbrush. What did you use for the NMF.

Are you using the rich formatting to post your pics.

Very nice debut, great color scheme!  I'm also a new modeler returning after a 40 year hiatus, you'll love the forum members, as they can assist you with any questions and concerns.  They have helped me greatly!

Toshi

P.S.  What kind of Air Brush and Compressor due you use?

Thanks!  I used MM acrylic silver over a base coat of black (tip I read about somewhere!).  Do you see the picture or do you have to click the link?  I may have to switch to Photobucket to see the picture instead of a link.

HI Toshi,

I have watched your postings of models.  You're doing a nice job!  I got a Badger Patriot 105 (new off of Ebay) and a compressor from TCP global (ordered on Amazon).

Oh, I do use the rich formatting but it doesn't look as if Carousel (Dropbox) allows me to post the picture, just the link.

Most of us use something like Photobucket or Flickr. You then copy the URL for the photo from there and under "use rich formatting" there is a icon you click and paste the link in there. PooF !!! it posts to the page. Easy smeasy!!!  GOOD luck.

To principaldrew,

Thank you for the reply, those are great tools that you've purchased.  I've read many a forum members having owned their Badger for a decade.  That is fantastic!  My equipment is from Harbor Freight and Tools.  Mrs. Toshi found a inclusive product that consisted of a siphon airbrush with a compressor for $89.00.  Mrs. Toshi also took me to Hobby Lobby and purchased a beginners model gravity fed CN NEO for Iwata.  I read that the NEO is from Thailand made for Iwata.
