Yeap, I'm working on one of Hobbyboss's Wildcat's and it's not a bad kit.

Plus now that I think of it there is the Arii/Otaki kit, not sure how it is but most of their other kits aren't half-bad.

Indeed..I forgot about that one. Especially if you want the wings folded. If it matters to you, I read the cockpit on the HB kit is too wide/oversized and some fuselage width issues. It depends on how much you care about that stuff. Their new P-38 certainly looks interesting.

I have a Hobbyboss kit in my stash, and although I haven't built this kit, it appears to be of pretty good quality and has tons of parts. It  is 1/48 also. The Eduard kits are really good for sure also.

Here is a review with sprue pics.

I couldn't agree more with the previous folks. I just finished the Eduard 1/72 F6F-3 and it is an awesome kit. I also have the !/48 in my stash. The detail, fit and accuracy are by far the best to be found. Be sure to post some pics when you get started.

I agree wholeheartedly, the Hasegawa kit is decent but the Eduard kit can't be beat!

Can't argue with that at all.  Joe's right.  There's really none better.  All the other Hellcat grin shapes with other kits are off in some way too.  Sometimes Hasegawa will guess at panel lines or omit a panel for something every now and then, but I've found Eduard to be right on with this kit.  You just can't be it.  =]

I built one a few years ago.  Here it is if you want to take a look.

The Eduard Hellcat is by far the best in this scale.  Get the Profipack with all the goodies.  The Hasegawa has accuracy issues with the cowl and IIRC its hard to pose the canopy open as it sits too high..  The Eduard could use a replacement prop though.  Ultracast makes a beaut.

Looking for recommendations on your favorite 1:48 Hellcat kits. I'm always a fan of Eduards kits, but I'd like to hear from the forum if there's a better option out there I haven't read about. Cheers~
