1/48 Hobby Boss FJ-4B Fury of ATG-1, 1958
Posted by Grant Dalzell on Sunday, August 9, 2015 3:26 AM

Hi everyone, this is my latest build, the Hobby Boss FJ-4B Fury. For something different I used the Aries resin cockpit, Brassin sidewinders and the decals are Eagle Strike. I posed it with arrestor hook down, I know it would not sit like this but wanted to display it all opened up. I love this kit, I have done three of the Hobby Boss furies now and have three more in the stash, so I will be doing more in the future.

Painted with Italeri, Gunze, Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics. Gunze Mr. Metalizers. Klear, Flory Dark dirt wash, oil paints for leak/stains. Lead wire for brake lines and landing light. Vallejo Satin Varnish was used to seal it all in. Thanks for looking Yes

Note- I forgot to uncover the nav lights before photos Oops

Now thats an aircrfat i have not seen before. When i saw FJ-4, i thought it might be some version of the Phantom. You have done a really nice job on it as well, thanks for shareing it.

I think the star decal is appropriate because this model certainly is a star. Wonderful job.

Wow!  That's really nice!

I never noticed how tall the nose gear was on those before.  That must have been a bit unnerving taxiing around the edge of a carrier.
