My latest build, turned out not too bad at all for my first attempt at some "opening up"

The inavsion stripe decal were next to useless so I did them myself.

That's sweet. I do think invasions stripes are better when painted on, the decals are just to neat.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Actually dropped on a real EBay bargain. The seller advertised as the kit "plus extras"

I messaged to see what was included and he confessed to not being a modeller and just had a picture with a load of bags! The rest of his items looked like he was a house-clearance specialist. It came with the resin egine, gun bays, loads of extra stencil decals , cockpit placards and two sets of canopy masks.

The good bit was i got the lot for £25!!!

The sad bit was that the instructions had some "annotatons" on them in what certainly looked like an elderly man's handwriting...possible I completed some chap's last purchase...

Nice detail there.  I paint the stripes too, the decals are always a pain.

Those are the best kind of deals. Not to long ago I got a Hasegawa 109 G-2 on ebay cheap and the box was found to be full of uber-expensive Cutting Edge extras!. Almost passed out. Oh and the P-51 is beautiful. Thanks for sharing...

Very nice...I like the color scheme and the open gun bay details help set her off. I too, always paint D-Day stripes and never use the decals.

Keep having fun!

Cheers,

Martin :)

That is one beauty of a P-51 you have turned out. Excellent work indeed. Always nice to score bonus booty on a kit buy. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice!  if you did complete a old chap's kit, I'm sure he is proud you finished it so well!
