Hello everyone, I wanted to do a "quick" build, so grabbed this out of the stash. The problem I had with this kit is that it is a "chromed" kit, all the sprues have the chrome plating/coating. I found out the hard way that Extra Thin glue does not glue "chrome" and when parts started coming apart, I had to pull it apart and scrape away and sand the chrome and start again. So the build took a little longer than I had anticipated. But got there in the end. For something different I painted AK Xtreme polished aluminium over primer, no gloss black underneath, as you can see it turns out not so polished, but I don't mind the way it turned out.

Great job on the P-51, especially with the chrome issues.  Thanks for sharing.

Nice build, Grant!

I see you went with the un-puttied wings approach.  Wink

Well done! Petie 2 is probably my next Mustang. Great Pilot.... I built the chrome version a few years ago. Glue issues are common with this kit. Next time soak it in "Simply Green" for a few days and it will eat the chrome right off of it.
