To my fellow forum members,
I am most disappointed in my order! It was a Me262 Visible aircraft, now it's MIA! At least the company I ordered from will refund my entire purchase back into my pay pal account.
I will be receiving my full refund placed back into my PayPal account. Still, I was looking forward to this build, oh well things happen. Luckily, I found a very nice Academy 1:35 M1A1 Abrahms "Iraq 2003" at Hobby Lobby, this should keep me busy for a week as I've never built a tank in my life. Please visit the Armour thread for my M1A1 builds.
I also currently have in my stash (Yes, I've finally have a minuscule stash) a Tamiya 1/48 Douglas A-1J Sky Raider. I really can't start this kit as I'm awaiting the Eduard PE interior for the Sky Raider. Until then, I'll keep everyone in the loop to see what else is going to be assembled. Forum members, thank you in advance.
Toshi
P.S. Please visit the Armour thread, maybe you can give me tips. I would greatly appreciate this!

Once in a while it happens. Good thing you are getting your money back. Who knows, it may show up before the end of the year.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Sorry to hear that Toshi. I cringe everytime I see USPS as the shipping source.

I sadly can relate Toshi. I had an OS2U Kingfisher resin cockpit get lost in the mail and the kit is still waiting for another one. Only 1 company makes it and the guy was not too happy to refund my money (minus the shipping) . I still had to pay the shipping costs as well. Florida USPS sucks.
I searched high and low for another and found 1 on Ebay but the idiot wants $95 for it.
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
As a mail carrier. I hear these stories all the time. Most of the time the reason that the item is delayed or lost is because of a wrong address or zip code. Occasionally a pkg will get damaged at the plant. With today's tracking systems they should be able to find where it went if it had a tracking number.

Thank you so much for the reiteration. Maybe it will show up in the next couple of days. Anyway, thank you sir, and thank you for the read and reply.

Yeah, hang in there, Toshi. I had some automotive parts go missing for about 3 weeks in the USPS mail system. It was a UPS->USPS delivery, and we lost track when it got to the USPS receiving center in Texas. I even checked with the Postal Service, and they couldn't find it. The package did magically show up about two weeks later. Go figure!

I'm hoping it still shows up.

Beware of UPS "sure post" or Fedex "smart post" where they transfer it to the USPS. Sometimes, that's an option when ordering something. I did that once and got my item a week later than if I'd paid a few $$ more for regular Fedex or UPS.
I worry more about someone taking something off my porch after it's been delivered though.

To everyone that replied to this thread, I want to thank you so much for sharing your stories in regards to delivery issues. As I said time and time again; "At least I got a good seller that immediately refunded my purchase."
At the very least I don't feel like that I am the only one that lost a model kit.

tempestjohnnyYou would be amazed at the missorts I've seen. I work in Connecticut. I had a guys electric bill from Oslo Norway once. Don't know why it was even in this country
Can i send you mine, and a few other bills i could do with disposeing of
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Meanwhile, someone in Oslo, Norway is confused as to why an Me262 visible aircraft appeared at his house and is frustrated his electricity has been mysteriously cut off!
I order a butt ton of stuff, and while I prefer to pick UPS shipping when I can, I've gotten a lot of stuff via USPS and have yet to have anything go missing. I've been lucky I guess because I see it being a problem a lot more than it should.
Of course, if you got the money back from the seller why not just order another? Odds are a second would actually make it. Statistically speaking at least.
UPS and Fedex also don't leave "sorry we missed you" slips in my mailbox WHEN I'M STANDING ON MY PORCH watching them fill it out either. They don't crush my boxes and throw them around. And if I schedule a pickup. they actually pick it up.
Of course this in only a condemnation of my own USPS guy...not all of them in general. :)
