Great Wall Replacement Parts
Posted by lawdog114 on Monday, October 12, 2015 1:12 AM

Does anyone know where you can get replacement parts from Great Wall Hobby. The canopy on my P-61 build is cracked and I need a replacement. Build on hold until I figure something out. I'm having no luck finding anything on the net.

Thanks,

Joe

Good luck. I can't help you. I can tell you I needed a replacment canopy for one a couple years ago and never had any luck.

I did some digging around and found this email on another forum looking for the same parts as you are. They stated that they got the parts in 10 days from China.

Hope this is right, good luck.

Kind of ironic, considering how people complain about the fit of the canopy on the Revell P-61.  Good luck, Joe!

Vacuum form one! That's what I do for "almost" every kit now. I started a few weeks ago and now have a vac formed replacement for almost every kit I intend to build lol

Thanks guys. Brandon they referred me to Dragon who apparently distributes GW stuff in the US. They have the piece but no word on when they will get it to me. I bought another kit GW P-61 off ebay in the meantime. tMike, more power to you bro.......way over my pay grade. Me and a fellow modeling buddy once tried it for the plex nose on a B-17 F with a wooden box and a vacuum cleaner and it finally worked after about 35 tries. Like stretching sprue and actually believing the Patriots can win without cheating........I just can't do it.

Mike....how about a turtorial?

LOL in regards to the Pats!  Want to know something funny?  I went to high school with Duron Harmon (Number 30 on the Patriots).  He used to cheat off me in Marine Biology. Me seeking acdecptance, let him. Next thing I know he gets a full ride to Rutgers. lol. But in the end, I would rather build models then play in the NFL. So we both win haha.  But all stories aside, he is a nice guy (last I spoke to him -- 6 years ago upon graduating high school).

Nooo!  Don't give up on V forming OR stretch sprue!  Both are very easy.  After some failed attempts of stretching sprue as a child , I sat down a few years ago to really learn.  Now thats all I use for antenna wire ( mostly i'm too lazy to order EZ line!) You can stretch it so fine it will just float through the air like dust.  I save all of my silver sprues for this purpose.

No problem! I can probably get a short tutorial up this weekend. I have a few pieces of clear plastic left.  And its very satisfying when the hot plastic gets sucked down lol

Oh yeah Mike....Harmon should fit right in with their culture of cheating.
