The pilot figure is from the Monogram TBD kit, I have a few in the stash but i painted this one up for this build.

Excellently done, I love how you left the gloss coat on.  I've done that I few times myself.  Weathering looks awesome!

The kit decals are indeed crap but I hit them with a few layers of glosscote and they became useable. I orginally intended to make it a heavy weathered aircraft but the shiny dark blue was just so striking i decided to leave it that way! The bottom was weathered though.

It looks very good. You were brave in using the kit decals. I recently bult one as a comission and the decals were very bad so I ended up using aftermarket ones. It's a decent kit regardless of being a 30+ year old mold.
