When using Future on aircraft canopys, which comes first? Painting frameword then the Future dip, or do you dip in Future before doing any painting?
If I'm dipping, I....
Dip
Dry (a few days just to be safe)
Mask and paint.
My guess is spray (or dip) first then paint once given sufficient time to dry.
1. wash in soapy water
2. dry with lint free cloth
3. dip in future
4. cover and let dry for at least 24 hrs
5 mask and paint

I put mine in a tube with a lid, just to keep any dust off it.

Recently I found my Future had thickened by evaporation and made it almost impossible to coat a canopy without some streaking or distortion. I used isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to dissolve the previous coat of Future off (taking some scrubbing with a q-tip and fingers too) and recoated with Future diluted with water. Turned out great. The bottle of Future is at least 10 years old. I also found that one of my microfiber cloths scratched the Future coated canopy so there was yet another redo.

I've always thought dipping canopies in future was odd. Causes all sorts of unnecessary headaches( reference above)
I recall reading somewhere that using future got popular because it some how made the canopies look thinner. I agree that it does do that. I don't do it now because I think they look unnaturally clean. And canopies are things enough now on their own.

alright I´ve just recieved my Trumpeter´s Su-27 Flanker B 1:32
this one is really a beast even compared to my 1:32 StrikeEagle!
but guess what, of course I´ve had to open the box and check the parts, the two canopy clear parts have a really ugly mold line across them...
so I gonna have to, you know it, sand it down and dip it...
I am quite disappointed, it costs 100 Euro and then such a at least the rest of the kit seems to be ok...
