I live in Salem, Oregon where here in the Willamette Valley the winters are usually mild and we don't get that much snow so .... I seek it out!
Although we might not have much snow here we do get a lot of rain which, in most normal years, would translate to snow in the Cascades. We've had very little snow in the mountains for a couple of years so I'm delighted that we're getting a more or less "normal" snow pack so far this year.
Yesterday I traveled about 85 miles from my place to Maxwell Sno-Park near Santiam Pass in the Cascades to do a short (about 4 miles) but pretty hike using snow shoes. Here's a picture from yesterday's snow shoeing.
