Jamine Models F6F-5 Hellcat, full PE, no skin 1/48 kit !!!

All I can say is WOW!!!  That would look stunning in my collection. Anyone else?

Very pretty, but it would be the death of me, and that is the truth.

I've seen several types of aircraft in this genre.  Cost is a major concern for me.  It is a very cool concept to say the least.

That looks incredible!

One potential drawback could be the loss of sanity.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

Sweet! I love "visible" stuff. I enjoy knowing how things work and are put together. It's like I’m awed by the program "Drain the Ocean". I am unbelievably curious what’s under the seas and lakes, so seeing what's under the skin of aircraft and cutaway views are a kick to me.
Now would I build it? If someone bought it for me, yes but I probably wouldn't buy it for myself.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

If I'm going to that extreme, then that baby is going to fly.

It would be much less stressful for me to just put the money in a bowl and burn it, but I have a deep respect for modelers who can pull this off.          gk

Go for it man! I'd bet you would knock it out of the park and I would love to see a WIP thread.
Just give me a heads up so I can follow. That would be cool.

Can't be that difficult, there's only 321 parts in the kit.

You could crowd source the WIP; I'd buy a share to see that kit go together!

LOL..... only 321 parts he says.

It is a cool looking, yet challenging kit to do. No way I'd pay that kind of money for a fully PE kit.

With me it is not a matter of brave enough- I'd love to tackle it. It is a matter of not being rich enough.  For me that price tag is a put-off.  Looks like a lovely kit, undoubtedly worth the money, but that does not make it affordable enough for everyone.

Do it, just don't think of the hard work, think of it in your collection, go with your gut, which seems to be telling you to stop thinking and just go for it!

If this were 1/32 I would be all over it, but at 1/48 it's just too small. All my WW2 stuff is 1/32, with the only exception being a 1/48 F4U Corsair "Jolly Rogers" that's for a 1/48 'history of the Jolly Rogers' display.

There is a gentleman on one of the Facebook modeling pages that is currently building one of these, and I have to say, it is absolutely amazing!! I, myself, I dont think I have the patience to build one of these. I havent done enough with PE to even want to attempt this kit.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

wow I LOVE this, but the cost is pretty steep!  I have built 2 if the old hasegawa skeletal kits, drove me nuts! but was worth it at the end. These are 5x moe complex.
