Well Bish you may not want to review my first build....it's a Mitsubishi Japanese A6M5 Zero. LOL. Just kidding  got to start somewhere. Stuka is definitely on the wish list.

thanks, everyone. The Stuka is definitely one if not my most favorite WWII plane. But since this is my very first build, I've decided to postpone it in favor of a Zero which would be easier for me in the painting department since I'd have less colors to deal with.

Mike. When the clipped tip Zero first was encountered the US thought it was a different plane. They gave it the codename Hamp

Among other changes on the Zero 32s, the clipped wings were designed both to eliminate the need for  folding wingtips and increase maneuverability.  Supposedly, the squared off wings were intentionally patterned after the wings on American fighters like the F4F, the Japanese copied them because they thought we were on to something.  They mostly served off island bases because, between the redesigned wing and the new engine they didn't have the legs of previous models.  Also, they were originally codenamed Hap, but General Hap Arnold objected to having an enemy plane named after him.

The other plane in that kit, the Zero 22, was designed to correct the Hamp's issues, basically they put the folding wingtips back on and increased its fuel capacity so it would have the same range as the older models.

Well, every build deserves a look. And a Stuka should be on everyone's wish list, its the law (or at least it should be).

Its nice to see so many Japanese subjects on the open forum. And i had not herad of a clipped wing Zero before. I always associate clipped wings with the Spi....Spi....Spi... damn, i can't even write it.

You know what i mean.

You're doing a great job on your build.  Everything looks great!  Keep at it as I'll be following along your build thread.

Looks good! And the Zero is probably a good plane to use here since it was a pretty simple Spartan aircraft.
