Parafilm ?

I pretty much mask all my canopies with it, but it does take a little getting used to at first. You have to press it down really well and make sure there are no bubbles, but once you've done that it forms a really secure seal on the part (it works best on Future'd clear parts). Cut around the frame with a brand new #11 blade and then peel it away – it leaves no residue when it's removed. 

I can't seem to get good adhesion.  Don't know if I stretch it too much, or too little, or if some other problem is at fault.

I've found that it has some uses, but not as much as I thought. Stretch too much or too little and it's useless.   

I've been using it for years,for canopies masking panels etc.masked an F-8E canopy put it in box, finished model 4 yrs later and the parafilm came right off with no problem.

Yeah, I've used Parafilm on canopies.  I usually use it on bubble canopies, like the ones found on modern jets and WW2 fighters.  It takes some practice to get the hang of it, but it works well for masking.  Like you said, one of the nice things about using it is that it's pretty clear and easy to see through.  Another is that it cuts nicely when you use a nice new Xacto blade.  Like I said, I use it on bubble canopies, but for "panes," I still use tape to outline the frames with masking fluid covering the rest.

Parafilm is pretty cheap for a roll, considering how long a roll should last you.  I remember paying around $10-12 for mine, and it lasted several years.  It wouldn't hurt to invest in some.  Play with it on your canopies.  If you don't like it, you can always use it for camo masking.

Parafilm is great for camo patterns and BMF. Can be very dificult to remove if you stretch it to much. I would never use it on a canopy. I have used it for years and like it.

I think parafilm is what I have. I tried to make a second canopy and ended up melting the first one. Needless to say, haven't tried it again. :)
