What was the most enjoyable Aircraft you have built, and why?

Trumpeter's 32nd scale F-8E Crusader went together well and turned out nicely.  I liked the fact that they gave you options to display inspection panels / ammo and gun bays / refuelling probe parts open or closed.  I closed most of them up and the fit of the parts to cover the open areas was quite good.  It was also overengineered in that there was plenty of detail and photoetch and multiple sections and parts for an engine that cannot be seen when the kit is put together.  I also like the Kinetic / Italeri (same kit and plastic) F-86F-30 Sabre for many of the same reasons but Kinetic / Italeri allows for the fuselage to be slpti (back and front halves) to display the GE J-47.

In 48th scale, the Tamiya kits I've built (Lancaster, Do-355, Corsair, Beaufighter) simply fall together.  They are very well engineered and the fits are outstanding.

So far the most enjoyable aircraft I have built is the 1/48 scale Monogram B-17G. Primarily because I built it for my grandson. I hadn't built an aircraft since the 1/48 scale F-14A Tomcat, which I will build another one soon, after I build a 1/72 F-105 Thunderchief.

The Revell 1/32 Hawker Hunter. The kit goes together like a dream. Everything fits perfectly! No filler needed anywhere on my build. You will not believe the engineering until you test fit it- I mean perfect. Cockpit detail is sweet, although an AM seat w/harness is a good idea. Kit decals are ok, but with such a wide & long career in service, there are plenty of AM options as well. And it just has a look once built that you have a hard time not falling for. It just looks right. 

Tamiya's F4J Phantom in 1/32 was one of the most enjoyable I ever built.

I built a 1/72 scale B-36 bomber as a teen. I did everything perfectly took a month to build it. It was great. I wish I still had it. 

My favorate so far was a 1/72 Fujimi F-14D kit. The parts went together well, there are a lot of nice details and extras (like the jet engine on a stand) and my paint job turned out great! My only complaint was improper ejection seats for the D-model, but an after market set fixed that quite nicely.

What ever I'm building at the time.    But Nichimos 1/20th scale Cessna 172 is up there

For me 1/32scale? Well that's  easy.

I really enjoyed building Tamiya's 1:32 Corsair, Mustang, Zero, and Spitfire.  Great detail and undeniable fit and finish.  As for Trumpeter's kits?  I've built an 1:32 Avenger and Duantless, I'm in the build process of a Stuka.  Trumpeter is an excellent superb choice!

IDK if this will be much help but I've built (3) 1/48 scale models from the Hasegawa brand and all of them where a joy to build. The fit was outstanding in every one of them. The decals however where not so good but AM decals solved the problems.

You might wanna view the specific model you wanna build on Scale Mates for good reviews as each mfg. has their poor kits as well as superior kits of the same line.
