Thanks for the tip Rob. I have a metal one which is really heavy and tends to damage the paint....and the plastic. I just got a plastic one from my father in law. I also saw a tip about using a circle cutter and cutting curved pieces of tape and using that to mask. When I finish My beast......B-17 Chow hound, I'll have to give these two ideas a try.

That is one big model! Great job on the scratch work in the pit. The paint and weathering/pre shading looks very good. Excellent job done on an oldie. Beer

Rob way to beat that old kit into shape. Excellent craftmanship in that office,looks most impressive. The paint & weathering looks spot on. Very nicely done Sir!

Hello Greatmaker- use a circle template to paint the spinner tips- just slid the appropriate hole size over the spinner, make sure it is even and centred, then airbrush the tip colour over the base colour. Works like a charm! Rob

Archangel: Yes, this was the eduard PE meant for the Dragon G4 kit. I just used what appeared to be applicable and scratch built the rest based on the few photos I could find, and on pics of the Dragon C model. I used some spare fabric Luftwaffe seatbelts for the gunner and radio-operator. One set came with the PE set for the pilot.

Even with the challenges you encountered, you were able to overcome the deficiencies of the kit. The cockpit detail is amazing as well as the paint scheme. What a fantastic job!

1/32 Revell BF 110 C-4/B

Hello

I've just finished this old BF 110- bought it about 6 years ago. I had planned to build it OOB, but the cockpit was so incredibly poor, that I got a PE set for the G4 and did much scratch building to bring it up to something more reasonable and detailed. The rest of the build is OOB, except for the decals, as a result of damaging the some of the original ones that came with the kit. The fit was generally poor- lots of gaps needed to be filled with stock styrene. Also had raised panel lines with I tried to preserve. I also mistakenly installed the two wing bomb pods(?) before painting, and realized after that the large underwing cross was to be placed in the exact same spot- so I had to mask and paint it.
