Hello!

Congratulations on a very nice model! I'm glad to see a "Polish" Spitfire here! The "Dywizjon 303" is a legend here in Poland. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł

Beautiful. I've heard nothing but good things about the new Airfix Spits. Your's is outstanding.

Normally I like a nice clean background but I kinda like the model matching the profiles. Especially when you can barley tell 'em apart.

Nice job. I love those Polish planes for some reason. I was in Poland last year, and popping into a few bookshops, I saw lots of books about Polish squadrons in WWII, and it really made me wish I could read Polish, because I'm sure there are some amazing stories in them.

Anyway, I think the gray on your build looks right, and you did a great job with the whole aircraft.

1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk I - 303 Squadron - Completed
Posted by Wolfman_63 on Monday, March 14, 2016 4:26 AM

Just finished an Airfix Spitfire Mk I in 1/48 scale. I used aftermarket decals to represent a spitfire flown in the 303 Squadron. This is the squadron flown by Polish pilots during the battle of Britain.
This is my first time doing an Airfix kit in many, many years and I must say I was impressed with the detail and fit. Aside from some minor filling at the wing roots, everything lined up extremely well.
The gray recommended in the decal book appears darker on the model than in the pictorial in the book but I am still happy with the end result.
