WannabeFarmboy Wait! These things are supposed to look like airplanes when they are done?! This thought popped in my head last night, and I fought the urge to post it until just now. Putting off sarcasm that long is painful.

Revenant I doubt something this big could launch from a carrier...
I doubt something this big could launch from a carrier...
Well, normally it couldn't. But though the Navy says the saucer thing is a radar system it's actually technology taken from the Roswell saucer- an anti-gravity device...

Another winner there Fermis, congrads!!!
Love the folded wings, I still haven't worked up the courage to try that.
Nice!!!
Looks like $0.13 cents to balance it lol.
This is phenominal, Fermis.

Thanks again guys!
jeaton01 Nice! How much weight did it take to balance?
Nice! How much weight did it take to balance?
Not sure how much all that lead and pennies amounts to, or how much less I could have gotten away with. The whole thing weighs in at 6.3oz...pretty dang heavy for a 1/72 plastic model!

Wow! Really nice build on a cool subject. I've been somewhere else on this construction but got it all backread. Again, good work!

Moochass grassyass, dudes!
Revenant Weren't you working on a pair of Thuds as well???
Weren't you working on a pair of Thuds as well???
Yup.
Got em just about ready for the paint booth. One must go on hold though...gotta get ahold of Stevensinternational to get some parts (a nose has gone missing and one of the canopies has half the edge ripped off...was that way in the box)
WannabeFarmboy Really great looking build, fermis!
Really great looking build, fermis!
Outstanding...the subtle weathering and shading looks great...choice of scheme really compliments model, especially the shark-mouths on the nacelles that show up really well with the wing-fold!
Stellar work Fermis !
Love the weathering. And this is one A/C that looks great with the wings folded. I find that some A/C look like they're all balled up in the fetal position when the wings are folded - and you just can't see much. Not with this Hawkeye - very nice !
Chris
All done!!!
Pawel Lookin' good! Good luck with your build and have a nice day Paweł

Pins!!!
I've got a pin (brass rod) right at the fold, hidden in a little recessed corner, and another connecting the tip to the tail. The provided parts are nowhere near strong enough for me to have any faith in them, whatsoever.
Progressing at a snails pace now...so many little antennas and fiddly bits...tough to decide what's best for the next step.
Lookin like yet another rain day tomorrow...if so, I should be pretty close to the finish line.
...so how are you pinning those wings on???
Revenant Wow...looking good!!! But what happened to the giant frisbee on top???
