This is Eduard’s recently released Mk. VIII Spitfire, this is a beautiful kit to build and no problems whatsoever with it, the best Eduard kit I have built by far. Also one of the marking options is for a RAAF spitfire straight out of the box, not many kit manufacturers out there offer this which is disappointing.
This aircraft had a few different schemes on it, and the call out on the instructions has it with different colours beneath the roundels and down along the tail section as well as 2 smaller eyes behind the larger ones, as the aircraft had a smaller shark mouth. I opted for what would be an original scheme and I found some photos of the real aircraft still flying at airshows.

The main camo paints are Gunze, acrylic and enamel. Other paint used were Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics as well as Gunze Mr Metalizer dark iron. Flory dark dirt wash and Vallejo polyurethane matte varnish finished it off.

I have been eyeing Eduard's spitfires, and that is a beautiful finish, might inspire me to pick one up.  Very nice job.

Now that is a beauty.  I dont often see Spits with sharkmouths, and this one really makes up for it.

Great looking Spit.  Glad to hear that the kit went together well, as I just purchased this one off squadron at 40% off!

Thanks for sharing the amazing work!
