Revell 1/32 Spitfire Built as Spitfire R6915
Posted by Wilbur Wright on Monday, May 2, 2016 4:43 PM

Hi Guys, This is the Revell Spit (kit no 03986) in 1/32.  I paid $23 dollars for this kit.  Roughly $110 dollars less than Tamiya's  kit.  You can't beat the value on this kit. Great rivet detal etc.

Anyway I built this as Spitfire R6915 which is in the Imperial War Museum in London. I added a figure which I converted (from a 1/35th Tamiya Ardenne Tiger motorcycle figure). I used Tamiya acrylics for RAF Spits.  The display base is pine and the rod holding the plane is evergreen tube with a K&H steel rod inside it for strength.

I plan on building the 1/35th Tamiya Churchill Croc and also the Tamiya 1/25th Jadgpanther  which are or were represented in the Imperial War Museum. I have both of those kits on the shelf.  I like the fact that I've seen these up close and in person.
