• This are my 10th and 11th models overall and the third and fourth for 2016 • Color and decal placement has been followed in order • Dirt deposits, rust, leakages, exhaust stains, and paint chippings are faithfully recreated • Cockpit interior have been detailed in-depth • Paint scratches particularly in the wingtips and pilot walkway are emphasized thoroughly •

 

Color scheme:

• 1st Tainan Fighter Group, Buna, East of New Guinea, 1942-1943

• Mitsubishi A6M5c Kamikaze based from the book "Modelling the Mitsubishi A6M" by Brian Criner • Disclaimer: The decals are not in register with Hasegawa's A6M5c Kamikaze kit.

 

Date started: 24 February 2016 / 26 February 2016

Date finished: 19 April 2016 / 8 May 2016

 

Modifications:

• Coils and wirings, made from stretched sprues • Seatbelts, made from painted masking tape and aluminum wire

• Tamiya X-22 Clear

• Tamiya XF-61 Dark Green

• Tamiya XF-86 Flat Clear

• Tamiya XF-71 Cockpit Green

 

Weathering:

• Staedtler 4B Graphite

• Prang Regular Core Silver

• Cretacolor Artist's Studio Graphite Extra Soft

• Cretacolor Artist's Studio Sanguine

• Cretacolor Artist's Studio Charcoal Extra Soft

• Tamiya Panel Accent Color Black

I guess some people might consider the shading on the 3 to be a little heavy but I love both of them. Nice work and thanks for sharing with us.

That's outstanding work for your 11th and 12th models. I'm not sure I could do as well after 50 years of building.
