VF-161 F-4 Phantom 1:48

Had a guy pick me up to build him a Phantom. It's technically supposed to be an S variant Phantom, but we had a hard time finding one in 48th scale, and in the end he was more or less just wanting something to represent the markings so we settled with the J model. Fun build. Enjoy.

What make is this phantom kit? I love the look of the J, I don't know why but the shape of the nose looks the best to me.

Lovely work. The weathering is perfect for a Rock Rivers "S" Phantom. What paints did you use? Are there no Hasegawa S Phantoms to be found now days?

Wow, back when the IPMS Nationals were in Virginia Beach they offered a tour of the USN air base in Norfolk and we got to get up close and personal with the F/A-18s. You've done one of the best jobs I've seen of getting the salt and sun weathering of the paint right there.
