The TU-2 is a Tupolev design and larger when the PE-2 is a Petlykov design and smaller.
the pE-2 sure looks like the TU-2.Same designer?
Just bought the kit, so it won't be finished for quite awhile, and two kits on workbench now, so it will be awhile. But, it sure looks nice in the box, and I eagerly await getting started.

Ah-hah! I was wondering if the Historic kit was another company's product reboxed. On this one the fuselage was really warped and I had to sand the snot out of it to get it to fit together. If you see the model in person you can tell it's crooked and bent. I'd looked at the MPM kit but put off buying it afraid it was the same model in a different box, glad now that I did!
Good luck with the move, I know it can be a pain to try to do anything like this when you're cramped for space.
I had the mpm model years ago and remember the fuselage halves were very badly warped.I will get to building models again when i get out of the 26' trailer i'm in right now.
Well, FSM's recent review raved about the quality so hopefully you're in for a treat. Please let us know how it goes, I'd like one myself. Always liked the looks of the plane.
I built the Historic brand 1/48th kit years ago, worst kit I've ever built and I've done a couple of dogs. Even if this kit isn't great there is no way it could be any worse than the Historic kit.
I just ordered the zvezda 1/48 PE-2 and was wondering who has built it and what they thought about it?
