Here is the F-104G.  As you can see, several areas was in need of putty.  Now comes the sanding and buffing followed by the first coat of paint.

I've been back in the hobby for 7 years now and I have 7 completed kits. Man, I have got to tell the wife unit that I'm done working in the yard and need to spend more time at my bench. RIIIIGHT!!!!!!

Thanks Greg. I noticed the Iwata Neo CN comes with a 0.5 needle/nozzle. Which is a good decent spray size, but it wasn't spraying fine enough for the 1/72 builds. When I saw the 0.35 in the store, I couldn't help myself lol. if they carried anything any smaller, I would've grabbed that instead.

Being raised in the garage half my life I did learn that your tools have to have the proper parts to function properly. Just made sense to me which is why I had to let our friend Toshi know. :)

BTW, you and Mike are talking about Iwata needle/nozzles. It's more than a good idea to buy a matching nozzle for your needle, with Iwata it's pretty much a must. Good that Mike mentioned it, good catch.

Nice job on the Shin-den.

That is also quite a collection you have there.  What scale are some of those?  That Avenger and the Mosquito look huge compared to the B-24.  Are those 32nd scale?

P.S. As always you are correct in that the Avenger and Mosquito are 1:32.  The German kits are all 1:32 except the Ho 229 and the Folke Wolfe.  They are 1:48.  The Corsair and the silver/chrome (Silver Surfer) Tamiyas are 1:32.

The Zero, Spitfire, Bronco fall under the category of 1:32.  The B-17G and the Shinden respectfully are 1:48. 

The Airacobra is 1:32.  A-10, Kingfisher, and the Eagle are 1:48.  The only kit that I've ever built in 1:72 is the Twin Mustang.

I'm not much of an expert on NM but as JJ said the base coat is the major thing, it's got to be perfect. Even the smallest flaw shows up like a sore thumb. I use Alclad which is easy and simple as long as the undercoat is right.

I also see that you have a 0.35 needle for your Iwata. I hope you got the matching nozzle to go with it. Darn thing was $10 more then the needle but I think you have to have both, don't you?

Every Tuesday, I have speech therapy right next door to Hobby Lobby.  I'll be stopping by there after therapy to pick up the nozzle for 40% off as well.  If you pay the retail price for the needle and nozzle, your somewhere in the vicinity of $30.00 + Tax.  For another $20.00, you can buy a new NEO CN.  LOL!  I completely agree with you that when replacing the needle, a nozzle should be purchased as well.  Being that the nozzle is made of really soft brass and is very sensitive, that's a good idea.

Like you, I truly am ecstatic with the 0.35 needle and the whole NEO CN.  I can do pencil thin lines and prime with a one and a half inch coverage area.  This is an amazing AB especially for it being so economical.  That's why I went ahead and purchased the NEO Pistol Grip TRN1 Gravity Feed AB.  Great quality and I always wanted a pistol grip AB as sometimes my arthritis acts up.  The pistol grip allows me to continue with my project.

The TRN1 also has a 0.35 needle and a larger nozzle.  It allows me to get a wider and much more even spray pattern and yet can do pencil thin lines.  Even the TRN1 needle looks different from the NEO CN.  They cannot be interchangeable as I tried.  LOL!
