Japanese aircraft questions
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, June 17, 2016 9:05 AM

I am building my first Japanese aircraft, and have some questions.  Did the Japanese use shoulder harnesses in WW2 bombers, or only lap belts?  What was the color of the belt webbing?

Don, I haven't built many bombers so I'm not sure on your first question. On the second you'd want a light tan and dark brown/ leather.

Here's a link to some Eduard pre-painted belts. I'd go with a more tan and less yellow though:

Probably won't help Don, but here's a picture of a pilot in a KI-48 bomber and I don't discern any harness.

The Eduard PE set for my Betty only had lap belts.

It looks like it was like that for all their aircraft.  I'm working on a fighter and it gives only lap belts.

Thanks, guys.  I'll probably have more questions later, but your answers allow me to finish the cockpit!
