It looks like it was like that for all their aircraft. I'm working on a fighter and it gives only lap belts.
The Eduard PE set for my Betty only had lap belts.
Probably won't help Don, but here's a picture of a pilot in a KI-48 bomber and I don't discern any harness.

Don, I haven't built many bombers so I'm not sure on your first question. On the second you'd want a light tan and dark brown/ leather.

I am building my first Japanese aircraft, and have some questions. Did the Japanese use shoulder harnesses in WW2 bombers, or only lap belts? What was the color of the belt webbing?
