Hasegawa OV10. U.S.NAVY
Posted by gregers on Sunday, July 3, 2016 10:31 AM

Thought I'd post up one of my recent builds seeing as I have just came back after a long absence. It's the Haswgawa OV10 Bronco. Built OOB except for the decals which came from the excellent Mike Grant UAMF sheet. Paint is a mix of Xtracrylic and citadel minatures (for the white). and a couple of white metal bang seats I found in the stash.

Oh and the sidewinders came from the Hasegawa weapons set.

All the best.

Yep, done with the old hairy stick. I haven't managed to sort my hobby room out yet so no spray painting for me for a while. Cheers for the cudos.

All the best.

Cheers for the kind words guys. The build was done for a Group build elsewhere. Here's a link to the build thread on the UAMF. http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=342&t=13470

That is really stunning work on the Bronco, Greg. Must say, I'm quite impressed with your skill with the brush. I like it very much. Thank You for sharing your build with us.

Cheers Joe. Much appreciated. I do admit that red took quite a few coats to get right. So did the white. (about 5 thin coats) The Mike Grant decals were superb but very thin (I broke one - my fault not the decals) I'm looking forward to doing more from the sheet.

Cheers Lawdog. I don't know why but I get more satisfaction from brush painting than airbrush. Maybe because I was a spray painter for a living and it's like taking work home?.

All the best.

Cheers Mike. It's your excellent decals that really make it though. Awesome scheme.

Oh wow, that's sharp! I wish I could brush-paint a tenth that well.

Cheers loads for the praise folks. Much appreciated. I admit this isn't bad at all by my standards (I consider myself avarage at best) and close up there are a few nigglies that I wish were better. The worst part of the build though was even though I left the canopy off for a few days after superglueing the bang seats in it still still fogged up the canopy, It didn't happen right away either but it was there the next day - a nice surprise for when I got home from work NOT - I had a choice, bounce the thing off the nearest wall or prize apart the now well stuck canopy. I did the latter and fortunatly for me it worked. (see pics) I removed the fogging with a damp q-tip

All the best.
