Meng 1/48 ME-410B2/U4 Completed Build
Posted by jmscale on Thursday, July 21, 2016 6:25 PM

Hey all, new to the forum, so let me know if this post errs in some way or the photobucket insertions fail.

Anyway, I just finished up this kit, and I thought I'd finally jump into the online community. It seems like a good group here, so I'd love to hear what you guys think!

Here's the Hornisse:

I attempted the black basing technique that I learned from a particular Texan. It came out a bit darker than I wanted, so I guess I'll have to study his technique a bit more.

The last picture features what was supposed to be field re-painting on worn panel lines, this was a cover effort for the paint that chipped off when I snapped the whole wing off during weathering (...) That is not an effect I will attempt again, but I don't think it ruins the model.

Thanks for taking a look and please let me know if you hate it or love it, I'm always looking for places to grow.

Welcome Sign Glad to have you aboard Mate.

I'm anxious to see you work so please try again posting your pics, they didn't come through on here.

Hi Jack:

I have this kit too although it is the Me410A - a fast bomber version.  Anyway, I was halfway thought the build when I noticed that in the K sprue - the clear parts - parts K6 and K7 are frosted!  Has anyone else had this problem?  I am assuming that these parts should be clear - is this so?  I have been in touch with Meng and they have sent me a replacement part but this is just the same - parts K6 and K7 are frosted.  I have not so far been able to "clean" off the frosting.  Any suggestions?

Look forward to seeing your pics.  You have to upload them to a photo sharing app like photobucket.

Sorry guys, rookie mistake. I uploaded them to photobucket and followed the instructions in the FAQ, and it still didn't seem to work.

Heres a link to the album for now just in caset:

I think I accidentally used my personal links instead of the public ones. Let's try again:

Alright, I'm a lot more confident that'll work. Let me know!

Congratulations on a fine build.  Let's hope no more weathering accidents.
