Il-2 camouflage
Posted by davenport_r on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 4:57 PM

I've started on an Il-2, and the research I've got refers to an upper surface three-color camouflage pattern.  But the only images I have are profiles.  Can someone provide me with a top view of a three-color pattern?  thanks.

I have an IL-2 Single seater i finished in a 2 tone, dark green/brown, as per research i did of early IL-2s. I also have an IL-2m3 on the shelf that calls for a 3 tone similar to what youre describing. What version are you building? That will narrow down what the specific color scheme is, and depending on where/when it flew.

I’m working on an Il-2 AM38F that flew in April, 1945.  TopDrawings #13 provides left/right profiles, but I haven’t seen a three-color pattern for the wings & tail.

Thanks.
