I'd like to get an Otaki 1/144 C-5 as well. I got one a while back for a decent price and it showed up pretty badly damaged. Guy said it wasn't when he mailed it. Got my money back and passed it on to someone who wanted to try to repair the parts.

Another kit I'd like to get one of these days is the Aurora 1/72 DC-9. You can find them on eBay now but at ridiculous collector prices I'm not willing to pay.

Well finally after 3 weeks my C-5 Galaxy has arrived in the mail.Surprise  It is all intact and came exactly as pictured, which is surprising since the guy wasn't honest about item location at all.  I'm just glad I got it, and I'll be able to add it to my collection.  I just need to figure out where it's going to fit.Huh?

I'm going to have to fold the wings in, lol.  I really need to figure out a display area.  I have this tendency of putting the same scales together.  If I try to mix them up it drives me insane.  A 1/48 F-16 cannot be displayed with a 1/144 C-17.  It's a pet peeve I guess.

The 1/72 B-1 came in the mail today, I can not imagine the size of the 1/48!  Surprise  This one is a bit bigger than I thought.  I could have probably gotten away with the 1/144.  Oh well.  The only problem will be figuring out where to put it when it's finished.  Still waiting on the C-5.Confused

One must start his/her stash somehow someway! I started mine in '84 and it's pushing 500 planes, ships, tanks etc.  I also have a list of built kits from elementary through high school years (late 60s thru 70s) that are gone to the great hobby shop in the sky. That numbers about 200. There's still kits that I want that are not in production right now, and some I want that I built when I was younger and no longer have.

Just keep buyin' and building, Keyda!!!  You can't have too many---you might actually live to be 475 years old like the rest of us modelers!!!!

Babies calling 8 kits a stash. I have 500+ unstarted and I remember when dirt was new. I definitely will not get to all of them in my life time, but I will have fun choosing which ones to tackle.

Considering I tend to pick my kits mostly from aircraft I've seen with my own 2 eyes, my choices aren't that many, lol.  I have picked up a few I haven't seen in person.  The Corsair, Fat Albert, and the B25 Mitchell are the 3 I have not seen in person.

I picked up another kit off eBay over the weekend.  A FJ-4B Fury.  Seen one on display at the Buffalo Naval park, along with a F-101 Voodoo.  I have yet to pick up one of those, but it's in my watch list, lol.  I'm really hoping we have another air show next year.  I will be smart about it this time and take plenty more detailed pictures.

Sorry no photos but that's not a stashBig Smile!

I have 400+ unbuilt kits in my garage. Of course I do have the advantage of having started collecting way back in 1955.

Ten years ago, my stash was maybe 30 strong. That makes nearly 300 added in those ten years...and I've built nearly 300 in those same years. That rounds out to 600 kits in ten years (Keep in mind, there was about 4 years of no building or buying in that time).

Pound for pound comparison says that I will have a stash of 1800, with over 1800(Easily) builds.

I have a problem....

....I am sure that I am not going to live to be 91!

I had to count em all....Surprise...323 (including the ones that have 2-3 kits in one box)

Last time I actually counted, I was just over 200. That was probably 50 builds ago!

Well I lucked out and got the 1/72 B-1.  I'm very surprised at the price I managed to get it for.  52 bucks shipping included.  Last one I was trying to bid on it went well over 90 bucks.  Now hopefully this doesn't turn into a fiasco like the C-5.

I may take you up on that Mr. Brindos.  I'm currently watching a 1/72 on eBay that ends tomorrow.  We'll see if I can nab it at a decent price.

Yea the seller of the C-5 is something else.  The item was also listed as being in New York, NY.  Turns out at the very bottom of the listing he said it would ship from Germany.  Kind of my fault for not noticing.  But if it shows up, and it's in the condition it was listed as I'll be happy.

Well finally after two weeks and opening a dispute the seller finally posted a tracking number for the C-5.  We'll see if it actually shows up.  His excuse was he was waiting on cardboard boxes.Confused

The seller apparently hasn't heard of, I don't know, going to a store and buying cardboard boxes? Heck, I would imagine the likes of Staples, Office Depot and such having boxes for sale.

I've got a MiniCraft 1/144 B-1A that I don't have much interest in. PM if interested.

I'm slowly building up the amount in my stash, lol.  I just picked up 3 more yesterday.  I am envious of your stash though.  If you ever feel you have too many you can send them my way.Big Smile

Befudled

Hey, Bish, about that Revell 1/32 Arado 196A...

That's odd that it would cost so much. I saw Ar 196A for $41.60 USD on Amazon. Just checked again and it is still the same price. They have another listing of it for the B version which is $407 USD, which may be what you saw. I live in Mississippi, but I don't think my location would make a difference when it comes to Amazon.

No, its definatly the A, its on Amazon UK, so will be differant to the one you found.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Revell-04688-Scale-3-Seaplane/dp/B003E47HL4

Its a bit strange some one selling the B kit for that much. Its still widely avaliable and tend to go for £30-£40.

Can you post the link to that A kit. It might be worth me shipping it ove rthe pond. There have been a couple of E-Bay, but they both ended when i was at work so i missed those.

I plan on it, actually tried this morning, but they wouldn't let me file a dispute yet.  Maybe by the end of the day.  I would rather get the kit than get my money back.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't get envious yet, it's been a week and the seller still hasn't even marked it shipped.  I'm wondering if I'm ever going to get it.  Starting to get a bit annoyed.  I really want the kit.  I'm going to be rather upset if I don't get it.

I would be attempting to contact the seller to find out what is going on.  And get the site involved to get your $$ back if he doesn't come through.  There is a time limit on it.
