A very nice job on that classic kit Toshi.  I bet that many of us have memories of building that kit.     I did as a kid . . .  and then a few years later as a "supervisor" with my son.

As I remember, He used a rather creative 6 color camo scheme that would have made the tigershark blend in very well if it sank in a coral reef  -  it was quite colorful !   What fun !

Chris

Thank you sir!  That's how it should be, passing things on to the next generation.  6 color camo scheme sounds very cool!  You'll never forget this experience with your son and he will remember this for the rest of his life!

I too made a model with my son.  He was into cars at 6.  So we made a Plymouth PT Cruiser and painted it a bright metallic purple!  He still talks about it to this day, he's 27!

WOW! Considering that the kit is old technology it came out great. Really nice looking. I applaud your hard work.

Thank you JohnnyK!  It definately was a interesting build and did challenge me at times.  It was a great and fun experience while building it.  Thank you so much for your support and replies!

After looking at everyone else's Corsair's I'm afraid to to mine.  I probably won't do near as good of a job.

I'm about to start my first kit after a 25 year absence away from the hobby. I'm terrified!

I guess the trick is to keep my expecations low to avoid the crushing disappointment that what I see my model looking like in my mind doesn't at all match what I've created lol

As they say; "You never forget how to ride a bike"!  You'll be fine sir!

Looks great!  I landed up picking up a Corsair F4U-4, F-15 strike eagle, and a UH-1D Huey gunship.  All Revell kits.  After looking at everyone else's Corsair's I'm afraid to to mine.  I probably won't do near as good of a job.

Thank you Keyda81!  It seems like you picked up more items to add to your stash!  I've made everything you mentioned except the UH-1D Huey Gunship.  I'd love to see a WIP on that kit, if not, let us know how you like it!

Toshi, Your P-40 is a nice clean build right out of the box. Not my style, but I am striving to do that some day. Your builds will be missed over the next few months. That will give you time to build up your stash!

Thank you sir, I will miss building and sharing my builds with you all.  That sir, sounds like a good idea if I can find the room to do so.

M. Brindos

I bet it feels good having that one back in the collection!  :D:D:D

Not only did you make quick work of her, you did her a fair amount of justice! Nicely done, my friend.  :)

Yes, it does!  Such a simple nice clean kit, yet a classic old school Monogram!  Nostalgic at best.  Thank you for such kind words.  I tried my best to make this build better than the last one.  Thank you for the read and reply as well as your support!

This will or might be my last kit!  I won't be building anything for a couple of months.  I'll write an explanation in a FSM forum thread.

To my fellow forum members,

Here is my completed P-40 Tigershark.  Though there were some challenges, I feel that this old school kit is great and I would recommend this kit to young modelers as who can deny the cool sharks mouth factor!

Besides that point, it is a very inexpensive kit and widely available at your local hobby store (I got mines at Michaels with a 50% discount) or online.  Well, I now will get back to my TNF Thursaday Night Football between the Texans vs Patriots.  Thank you forum members For visiting

Coming along nicely!  I went to the local hobby store today thinking they would for sure have one of these.  Nope.  But I didn't leave empty handed.  Who could ever leave the hobby store empty handed?!

Thank you!  What did you pick up?

Thank you SaltydogII!  I can't believe that you glued the fueselage and it looked like a banana.  That's just crazy, I've never seen anything that bad yet.

So far, I just painted the bottom a light blue gray and added the base brown and went over it with the green camoflauge.  I just need to button up some things, and spray it with lacquer clear.  After that it's the decals a flat sealant and a quick wash to blend everything in.  Thank you for following and supporting my build(s)!

Coming along nicely Toshi. Your probems remind me of that Classic Airframes Westland Whirlwind I built years ago.....nothing fit and I used a bunch of putty, sanding sticks, and krylon brown primer to get it looking half way decent. The fuselage looked like a banana when I joined the halves. Bang Head

You're doing a fine job on a rather dicey kit at best. It looks very good.

To WannabeFarmboy,

LOL!  As a kid I built one!  What seams?  Paint at times was not used.  If it did, it would be interesting at best.  LOL!  This will be Tigershark number three for me.  Thanks for the memories and support.  It's greatly appreciated!

To shipwreck,

Thank you sir!  Yes, now that you opened my eyes up.  I have been spoiled by the Trumpeter's, Tamiya's, Academy's, and so on.  Every now and then I do find it fun and challenging to put one of the older kits together.  I know it was cutting edge back in the day, I built three including this one.

As for the pitot tube, I will remember that the next time.  Thank you sir for your tips and this conversation with you.  I enjoy them very much.  Also, thank for your support, read, and reply.
