Bish Thats a really nice looking build, great finish. Whats the purpose of those coloured wingtips, not seen that before.

I'm pretty sure they were group/squadron identifiers.

I love this! A superb build Frank!

Thanks all for the kind words!
jgeratic That looks great, really different, not just because of the markings, but the colour scheme too. Eduard has the topside colour as medium sea grey, but maybe incandesant lighting shifted the colour to a more tan look? regards, Jack

It's the lighting that's giving off the tan hue. If I bought proper flood lights for photography, then knowing me, I would embark on yet another hobby (and a pretty expensive one at that!). She Who Must Be Obeyed would then throw me out of the house for sure.
Here's a pic from my phone taken just before it was finished:

All the accolades +1. Super nice work!
Did you photograph your model using incandescent lighting? If so that might account for the warm (tan) shade rather than gray on the posted images. That's unlikely though since most digital cameras these days have pretty good auto white balance.

Great looking work! At first I was like wow, got a little dark on those panel lines on the top surface of the wings. Then I realized...oh yeah...spitfire...lol. The only one I built didn't get finished cause I ruined it, so it took me a few minutes to catch up to the rest of the class. Lol.

Thats a really nice build and great finish. I know you said it was grey upper cplour but what shade is it. I really like that tone
Steve
You did a great job on that Spitfire. Superb weathering.
