I did the same as LawDog and Brandon - I pre-ordered 2 of these from RollModels.  I have not yet seen a charge on my credit card, and their site still lists it as available as a "Late Pre-Order".  Hoping to get these in pretty soon....

I'm in the same boat as Lawdog - Preordered two and they haven't shipped yet, and no charge on the credit card.

Can't wait to get it in my hands, though!

Yeah, it does look the errors were made in the design stage, like something done on the computer/cad program.  Maybe something didn't get saved properly before it went into production.

Agreed, it does look like a nice kit.

Does anyone know if this boxing of the P-40 was also used by the Commonwealth?

Nice. I've been looking for a review like that since last night. Looks like an excellent kit with minor gripes I can overlook.

I will have to make an exception, and order this one when I have an opportunity.  :)

Details and parts fit look spectacular. :)

The Brits are pointing out a few hiccups, though should be straight forward to fix if inclined so;

Britmodeller's resident P-40 expert was consulted by Airfix on this kit about 2 years ago - HBBates. His opinion is in that thread you posted Jack. In another thread, he basically said this one is the best kit to date, though with some minor tweaks (as you pointed out).

I pre-ordered two from Airfix a few months ago. I hope they're on the way to me. Perhaps I need to send a reminder email.

Just got word my 1/48 Airfix P-40B is on its way from Hannants. They appear to have plenty of stock. Anyone from across the pond grab one yet?
