Tamiya 1/48 DO-335 Pfeil
Posted by blkhwkmatt on Saturday, November 5, 2016 2:59 AM

Thought that I would post some of my WIP here as well as over in the 1946 GB.  I am converting this kit from the "A" to a "B" version with the cannons in the wings, as well as adding in the CMK fuel tank and Aries engine sets.

Cockpit (with eduard super fabric seatbelts)

Rear engine installed

Wings modified and installed

Excellent nose gear well from Aries:

Thanks for looking.

The amount of detailing you're doing is just amazing.  I love all the aftermarket products.  Great job!

Interesting model in itself, I've looked at it several times. After seeing your excellent work on this I'll have to put this on the "to do" list.

Really good work!

Thanks all for the comments

I have been busy plugging away on this in my spare time and am going to call it done.  Still need to add the pitot tube on the left wing and make a base for it, but that will come.

All these photos were taken with my phone, will take better ones this weekend.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks all for the comments.  This was the first time using the AK interactive weathering products and I found them easy to use and add a massive amount of depth to the finish.  The key I found in using them was to have patience.  I also found the reviews on YouTube to be very informative.

I'm not terribly familiar with this plane, but I have been seeing a lot of them built lately (here and elsewhere). Looks great!

In agreement with the gang, very nice workmanship!

This could be an ad for AK, because seeing what you've done makes me want to try some. Wink

Thank you all for the kind words.

Here are some "Final" pictures.  I put the bird on a base, still needs some work, but for now its done.

It's the cat's pajamas! Really fine work.

Makes me want to grab my old Monogram kit out of the closet.
