Now that the hurricane repairs finally are done, I'll get back into modeling after my index finger heals. I lost  the end of it between the fly wheel and bendix starter gears on my outboard motor where there was no extra room for my finger . The bandage is as big as a 144 scale airplane which makes it hard to detail a model.

Thanks again guys. The gloss is more when looking at the actual model were you can pick from several angles and see how smooth the paint is.

I think I have the technique down for my 1930's Delahaye Type 103 Bonneville fire truck's paint.  

That is one stunning build PJ. Your polishing efforts turned out beautifully.

Several coats of MM enamel clear gloss  over the blue. Then lots of polishing with liquid swirl remover .

Nice low  drag !

What process did you use to get rid of the orange peel?

Thanks. Make sure the paint has dried for at least 5 days or longer before polishing.

I used Simoniz Scratch and Swirl Remover to lightly polish with soft cotton t shirt pieces. 

I've heard that Maguire's Scratch X is very good for this process.

The finish was a bit more work than the usual military flat coat. The orange peel had to be polished out to get a smooth glossy finish.
