I have have had an interest to make this C-54 into a fire bomber for a while Toshi, so I cannot wait to see you work on it. This kit has had good reviews. As far as the Orange and White, it should not be too hard. Having painted fire bombers in the past I was taught to paint the entire plane with a light, even coat of white primer. Then paint the Aluminum, mask, prime the area of aluminum overspray, then lay your white, mask and prime the over spray area, then lay the orange. Let every coat dry between 4 to 24 hrs depending on if your using acrylics or enamels. Using a flat white primer will allow the top coats to look even, since orange has a tendency to look blotchy if the undercoat is not even. Keep all you coats light. Orange may need several. Tamiya has a new contour tape that will make masking around the nose and those pesky deicer boots easier. Remember to feather the paint as you get near your mask line so that the demarcation will not be so drastic and you won't run the risk of paint bleed. Paint the black deicer boots and nose last. Good luck! Scott
