You could also try Fine Art Of Decals.  This guy has been making, and selling some great decals for a while.  They're above the 10-15 $ range though.

eBay has tons of B-17 decals available. It's a matter of finding a scheme you want.

Thanx for the link. If I can not get what I want locally I am going to have to import.

Luck the build is still a long way off.

Have you tried contacting Revell? They may charge you for the decals, but at least you will have the original decals.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

Yup, it is starting to look like an option, I might find someone local that could do noseart decal.

Now I just need to go google what the standard sizes were for the insignea and the Sqn codes ect.

Thanx

If you have some generic black block letters & numbers you can easily do an 8th Air Force NMF bird aside from the Air Division and Bomb Group symbols, as well as any personal markings such as nose art and mission marks. For the earlier OD and Neutral Gray B-17s the color choices are a little more varied. Yellow for serial numbers on all, but the squadron codes can be gray, yellow or even white.

I don't know if you have access to eBay there, or if sellers on eBay will ship to your country and for how much,  but doing a quick search there for "1/48 B-17G decals" turned up lots of decal sheets in your price range.

Yup, I think the shipping might be a hassle, then when it lands here I hope it doesnt "get lost" by the post office.

I might have to see what insignea I have in the spares box that can work and paint on the rest.

Thanx for the replies

There have been multiple decal sets made for that kit from various companies. i suspect you will be able to find a set for the price you want, but.... shipping to your part of the world will likely not be a bargain.

I found a number of sets on Hannants ranging from around £7 up to 15. Not sure what the postage is from the UK but might be worth a look.

decals for 1/48 B-17G?
Posted by Theuns on Saturday, December 10, 2016 10:47 PM

Whatup y'alll?

I was given a monogram/revell 1/48 B-17G kit but without decals. Where can I search for decals for this model?? I would npt mind doing a NMF one if I could.

I saw a set online but I am affraid that 30 USD is way over my budget to buy and get it to SOuth Africa. We have an exchange od 17 to 1 USD here :-(

Are there any "nice" sets out there for say round the 10-15 USD range or am I grasping at straws here?

Thanx
